Linx Technologies F4 Series GPS Receiver Module is a self-contained high-performance GPS receiver with an on-board LNA and SAW filter. Based on the SiRFstar IV chipset, it provides exceptional sensitivity, even in dense foliage and urban canyons. The module's very low power consumption helps maximize runtimes in battery-powered applications. With over 200,000 effective correlators, the F4 Series receiver can acquire and track up to 48 satellites simultaneously in just seconds, even at the lowest signal levels. Housed in a compact reflow-compatible SMD package, the receiver requires no programming or additional RF components (except an antenna) to form a complete GPS solution. These features, along with the module's standard NMEA data output, make the F4 Series easy to integrate, even by engineers without previous RF or GPS experience. The Linx F4 Series GPS modules offer a simple, efficient, and cost-effective method of adding GPS capabilities to any product.
The F4 Series GPS module is ideal for GPS applications where Low-Power is required. With an operating voltage of 1.8V and low power modes such as Trickle-Power and Push-to-Fix, the F4 module will hibernate with current draw as low as 20uA. Using the supplied software commands, the F4 Series GPS module also offers GPIO capability, which allows the application software to monitor and control events without the need of a microcontroller.
